Kaposi's Sarcoma
Kaposi's Sarcoma, rare type of cancer of vascular tissue in the skin or internal organs. A mild form most often affects older Italian, Jewish, and African Bantu males. A more aggressive form occurs in about one-third of patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), although the incidence of Kaposi's sarcoma in AIDS patients appears to be decreasing. In 1994, a new type of herpes virus was found to be associated with Kaposi's sarcoma.
